Released January 22, BLESS THIS HOUSE is an instant Gospel music classic that is receiving accolades across the board – from radio, press, fans and Carr’s peers in the Gospel music industry.
Byron Cage tweeted : “This new CD by Kurt Carr, BLESS THIS HOUSE, is absolutely Epic…Choir directors, praise leaders and liturgical dance ministries – you’ve got two years worth of music to teach on this CD. And Donald Lawrence tweeted that the CD offers “amazing songs and singing!”
“I’m blown away by the favor of God in this season of my life,” says Carr. “After 20 years in music, to receive awards, critical acclaim, recognition from peers and fans – God has just blessed me in this moment, and His timing is always perfect. When I wrote “I’ve Seen Him Do It,” I knew it was a great song, but I didn’t realize it would be the theme of MY life right now! I’m rejoicing about this great debut, and my sleeves are still rolled up to work, because – as we know – to whom much is given much is required.”
“Kurt Carr is a prodigious Gospel artist who delivered a project that exceeded all expectations. I am incredibly proud of this debut and look forward to keeping BLESS THIS HOUSE at the top of the charts,” says Geo Bivins, General Manager, RCA Inspiration.

Written and produced by Carr, BLESS THIS HOUSE is comprised of 17 lush songs of encouragement and gratitude. The first single, “I’ve Seen Him Do It” is resonating in churches and at Gospel radio as a heartfelt anthem to which every believer can attest. “When we think about it, we all can say that we’ve seen God do miraculous things,” says Carr.
Over the last 20 years, Kurt Carr’s songs have become Sunday morning staples. Such modern day hymns as “In the Sanctuary,” “The Presence of the Lord Is Here,” “For Every Mountain,” “God Blocked It,” and “Peace and Favor Rest on Us” are standards in Gospel music. After graduating from college and experiencing several mentorships with Gospel greats Richard Smallwood and Reverend James Cleveland, Carr put together his own ensemble, The Kurt Carr Singers, and released his debut album Together in 1991. Songs from his debut, such as “Holy, Holy, Holy” reflect Carr’s unique ability to amalgamate classical and Gospel sounds effortlessly.
